Recreation Dallas is seeking a copywriter to join our growing team.

We are a growing, digital-first ad agency of 14 people located next to the Dallas Farmers Market (but currently located in 14 home offices around the Metroplex). Recreation’s motto is Play to Win: we view work as play, and strive to have fun while doing it. 

And, for our clients, winning is our goal. That means tossing out your ego and bringing your A-game. We strive to meet and exceed any client needs by doing work that works. (And those clients range from national to local, involving things like pizza, ice cream, puppies, diamonds, wine, basketball, and airplanes.)

 

ABOUT YOU

You are a rockstar in the workplace with 3+ years of industry experience. You are a self-motivated creative and strategic force who is equally adept at building (and presenting) creative campaigns, as well as coming up with a good tweet for a client, on the spot. (What even is a “good tweet”? We’ll find out together.)

You are well-versed in traditional advertising and copywriting (print, OOH, TV, radio scripts), but are especially comfortable in the digital realm – creating innovative tweets, fleets, stories and posts that are on brand, as well as writing paid headlines, social posts, and the occasional blog.

You need to be able to handle multiple accounts and multiple brand voices. You are an excellent communicator and will raise red flags, when needed, on both internal and external projects. You will fully understand the brands you work on and their competitors – becoming a partner to our clients and to our team, overall.

Above all, you need to be strategic and agile with your writing, enjoying the challenge of something new and different every single day.

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field
  • Exceptional writer, who can work with flexibility and wit, with also a general eye for design and knowledge of social 
  • Exceptional concepting, copywriting and strategic skills, when needed
  • Boundary-pushing creative thinker
  • Solid knowledge of digital and social media landscape  
  • Strong presentation skills, demonstrating a clear vision of how the work addresses the client challenge
  • Ability to self-manage projects from start to finish 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good knowledge of digital and social media landscape, including social platforms and general best practices
